AN OPEN LETTER TO PITSO MOSIMANE

Dear Pitso Mosimane,
Let’s cut the foreplay BS.
You are out of your depth and your excuses for BAFANA’s failure are exasperating, did I hear you blame congestion of PSL fixtures for your failure to qualify for AFCON 2012? Really? It’d be really funny if it wasn’t this pathetic, let me refresh your memory. YOU DID NOT UNDERSTAND THE SIMPLE COMPETITION RULES, you defended a goaless draw against minnows when you had the homeground advantage, you and your SAFA bosses went into the last game of the qualifiers knowing it was highly likely to finish the group tied on points with at least one other country BUT it did not occur to you to familiarize yourself with the CAF rules, the only reason why you still have your plum job is because your employers are as incompetent as you. You should be grateful you still have a job instead of shooting your mouth making embarrassing excuses whenever there is a functioning microphone in front of you.
You were not the best man for the job and not just my opinion but records show that in SA alone we had people with far superior records to yours. Gavin Hunt took the team you had led for almost a decade and won the league in his first attempt, in fact it’s now history that he won the league three times in a row achieving something you’d constistently failed to do. Gordon Igesund? Well, he’s probably insulted that you got the job ahead of him because yet again records show that he’s by far a better coach than you will ever be, but he’s white, no make that white South African, SAFA has given the head coaching job to many overseas white palookas before.
Next you blame the strikers, ‘We just don’t have strikers in this country’ is your favorite tune. When will you ever admit that you are tactically bankrupt, when will you ever admit that you have run out of ideas? Will you keep buying time with these excuses till we fail to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil in 2014?  That’d be too late, Pitso. Your excuses make it clear that you have no ace left up your sleeve other than the PR-game and that is not going to help us qualify for the World Cup. So Katlego Mphela is the only lethal striker we have so what’s your plan-B in that regard?
Pitso, I’m exhausted, I’m exhausted from the superficial euphoria of celebrating draws, I’m exhausted of your unending excuses, I’m tired, the country is tired of celebrating mediocrity and your insecurities about your job, you are insecure because you know it in your heart you are the best South Africa has.
I heard you say you are patriotic, if you really loved your country you’ll do the honourable thing and resign so a better coach can take over. You are not a bad coach but you are most certainly out of your depth as a Bafana coach.
So will you jump or you will have to be pushed?
